Veneklasen House

Mark Tessier Landscape Architecture, Inc. in collaboration with Chu-Gooding Architects, was hired to further integrate the landscape and architecture of this mid-century gem originally designed by Kenneth Lind (1959). Our design intent was to create a stronger connection between the interior and existing mature landscape while enhancing the outdoor spaces for entertaining.

Our balancing act was to unify the overall environment while establishing separate identifiable outdoor rooms. We minimized the materials and planting palette thoughtfully using each choice to create an experience for the senses with texture, color, and sound. The approach allows both the architecture and landscape to remain distinct and blend together.
