Alliance Residential's Sway Apartment project was envisioned as a bohemian beach community with resort, hospitality-like amenities. Our overall concept was designed as a series of connected gathering spaces and shared communal environments for relaxation and entertaining. The second level lounge and pool, overlooking vibrant Santa Monica, California just one-level below, is the primary destination with wood carpets, lush planting, a bar, barbeque and al fresco dining area. The wooden “beehives”, designed as jewel-like conversation pods, giving residents intimate lounging spaces within the larger overall shared garden landscape.
From the street, passers-by and residents approach a façade enriched with corten steel planters and custom green walls that enhance the built environment with vegetation from the street extending up to the 5th level.
