Nestled in the Santa Monica Canyon alongside of the rustic creek, this mid-century modern home needed a garden to match the beautiful remodel. Behind the custom designed privacy gate made from reclaimed wood, visitors gradually climb steps to the home to a discovery-filled, butterfly-friendly, bountiful landscape.

We worked around a gorgeous old sycamore tree creating various landing pads and "rooms" set apart by different climatically appropriate plants from Australia, South Africa and the Mediterranean. The use of multiple materials including gravel, concrete, and wood; and a varied planting palette offer the homeowners a textural, colorful, lush, multi-sensory environment for relaxing and entertaining.
